Feature Request: Supply Management and Loadout Restrictions for Realistic Gameplay
Feedback, NormalPublic

Description

Summary:
Introduce a system to regulate player access to armory supplies, ensuring a more realistic and structured approach to loadout management in line with a "milsim" experience.

Details:
Currently, players can freely access and drain armory supplies, which detracts from the realism of a military simulation. To address this, we propose implementing a rank-based and team-controlled supply management system:

Standard-Issue Gear:
Players should initially be restricted to standard-issued gear.
Additional or specialized equipment should require team leader approval combined with individual rank progression.
Team leaders should have long range radio available from the start, and one additional long range radio can be purchased optionally via the team, provided they have at least one member with properly high rank. On every team member death they should be only allowed to respawn on team long range radio or on the base which is closest to the team leader that has supplies. This will encourage from the get go for the team to operate together after deaths.

Team Resource Pool:
Teams accumulate a pool of "resource points" based on the combined ranks of all members aka team supplies allowance.
These points regenerate slowly over time and as immediate acceleration of some sum from mission rewards, like finishing supply routes, building structures, capturing new point etc. and can be spent on additional gear from the available supplies.

Team Leader Authority:
The team leader manages the team's resource pool by assigning point limits to individual members.
This system allows for equitable distribution (which could be a default setting) or prioritization based for individual team members (like percentage slider next to member name).

Rank-Based Gear Unlocks:
Certain equipment, such as machine guns, grenade lunchers or advanced tools, etc. should be locked behind individual rank thresholds.
For example, machine guns could be available only to players ranked Sergeant or higher.

Benefits:

  • Encourages teamwork and strategic planning.
  • Adds depth and realism to the supply and loadout system.
  • Prevents excessive draining of resources by individual players.
  • Rewards individual and team progression through ranks.

This system would enhance the milsim experience by promoting structure, discipline, and accountability, reflecting real-world military logistics and hierarchy.
