Hey there. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this report. If you're able to help me get back to playing DayZ, I'll be so incredibly grateful for your help.
I've got 700+ hours that I've accrued since the first years of Standalone being out. Maybe 2 and a half months ago, when I was getting back into the game, it started to crash. I had already been playing it a bit for somewhere between a fortnight and a month, I think. I had played on official servers without mods, and then played some community servers with mods. That's as much as I can remember from the time when this started happening.
I went on a 2 month work trip and was excited to come home and play DayZ after fixing this issue; alas, I cannot. I've looked many things up about the Status_Heap_Corruption crash I am having as well as the Status_Access_Violation crash I am having. I can't detail what causes one of these and not the other, but I think that launching the game in Buldozer mode might have something to do with it. Speaking of Buldozer, here are some fixes I've seen online and tried:
- Obviously, verifying game files. I've done this many times and it has not been fruitful.
- Disabling my Nvidia GeForce In-Game Overlay. I've disabled this and nothing changed. I've also taken Nvidia off the Startup of my PC because I found that it was still running things when I was trying to get it not to.
- Launching the game in Buldozer mode (through the launcher's parameters). Like I said, I think this affects which crash I get.
- Uninstalling and re-installing. I've done this a couple times and have seen no effect.
- I've also tried adding the '-nocharmenu parameter' because I saw one single thing online that made me think that might work somehow.
- Ensuring I have enough storage/thinking space on each of my drives. It's not uncommon for me to have issues with games because my PC is too full and it can't operate - but this is not the case this time as I've certainly got enough space now.
