Try to collect NBC gear in new inventory system on 1.26

Additional Information

Just a suggestion. Despite being a loot goblin myself I really enjoy the changes to the inventory sizes on 1.26. It's had the desired affect of causing more decisions to be made over what items you carry as a fresh spawn, what clothes you wear and how cool it feels to even find a basic backpack. It's one thing for sure the modern game has missed compared to old pre enfusion DayZ. However I feel there may room to change the size of gas masks and nbc clothing down a little now. It's always been a bind to collect a full set because of weight and inventory management even in 1.25 and before but with the new changes its near on impossible without making stashes. This may be what you want I guess but personally I'd love to still be able to collect up the outfit and go to Rify or Pavlovo. Tweaking NBC pants and jackets down from 6 to 4 slots, 9 slot masks to 6 or even 4 slots and 12 slot masks to 9 or ever 6 slots would seem to be a reasonable idea given the massive changes to the base inventory space, maybe gas filters, gloves, hoods and boots could be tweaked down from 4 slots to 2 slots also? The gas zones on vanilla are an end game challenge for players that keep us engaged. With DMRs being common on 1.26 nobody is going to bother, even when DMRs were on convoys it was so much easier and fun to go off questing for one of those to the point the gas zones were feeling not worth it. Now with the inventory changes I think they will be hardly visited unless the size of the NBC is adjusted.,

Separately with boats coming. How cool would it be to move rify boat to somewhere out to sea surrounded by gas meaning you had to get to it on a boat already wearing the nbc. Right now new spawns can run in, check a couple of containers, grab a gun, stash it on the edge of the gas, then die and run back for the gun as a new spawn. It would be so cool to move this to some broken rocks out to see and require a boat to get there. Also after Frostline please add Utes and some other cool stuff in the ocean, you know you want to!!!

Event Timeline

As suggested to me on twitter it may be worth looking at car parts, especially the radiator, jerry can and maybe tyres. Getting a car could be very tricky going fowards. For most loot items this is causing a choice over what to carry and that is really what DayZ is about, the change to me is a good one for the game. If it literally makes it feel impossible to do an NBC run or to get a car going, then this seems bad for the overall gameplay loop. Every time you loot a house as a new spawn right now you are having to decide whether you should drop one of the items you already have, for the new item you could carry on the ground. This is cool! Where this becomes less good to me is when it is steering us to just never bother with a car, or never bother going to the gas zones. It's an unintended side effect of a very good change to the game overall IMO.

I've made suggestions in the past to move riffy or at the least make deeper water around it so you can't cheese it as a fresh spawn.

100% NBC items are way too big, 1.26 makes the NBC cases on community maps a requirement mod.

There are many other items that are still way too large that need adjusting, maybe that got adjusted yesterday, didn't see it mentioned in the patch notes.

Maybe we're getting hand wagons in 126 that haven't been announced yet.

I can't wait to see freshies pushing a wheel barrow across the map

Hello, I'm a relatively new player(roughly 200 hours in the game), my first mission was to go to Rify which I believe is an incredible endgame area. Since my first time in a full NBC suit, I've been to Rify a few times without an NBC suit, and without dying and running back. The exploit is actually very easy, you just collect as many bandages as you can and a mask+filter. Keeping up with the bandaging in Rify isn't too bad. You can loot just about every crate and even avoid the southern zombies by entering from the north. Personally, I really enjoy the changes to inventory in the new patch, but with NBC gear taking up so much space, I don't think I could force myself to NOT do the exploit if I wanted to go to Rify even though I believe it goes against the intention of the zone.

Somewhat hilariously, this exploit becomes even easier in conjunction with the spawn system, which I've heard from other players is another topic of debate. So considering the spawn system, you could theoretically get everything you need to hit Rify without dying in the right spawn town - bandages from dead players, medical, fire station. Then, run to Rify, use your 6+ bandages to loot every container and bail at roughly yellow+ blood, maybe with a DMR on your back...
