I have been having this same problem with not being able to run dayz a couple years ago and i just quit all together because of this. I recently got a new pc 4070 rtx and its having the same issue so i know its not a hardware problem. I download all the mods for a server, click join and it stays on a black screen for a couple minutes then closes without any error screen. it crashes my steam and sometimes freezes my chrome. i dont know what els to do please help nothing is working. ive been on forums all day and nothing helps.

Does this happen if you do a clean installation and try to run the game without mods and connect to an official server? Also does Experimental have this problem?

Yes I have deleted all mods and reinstalled like 3 times. I have been trying to connect to official servers without any other launchers or mods but it’s still black screen with no response. Same with experimental. Nothing works.

I thought i had a problem with my old pc with some files but I don’t think that’s the case. I recently got a new prebuilt and the first thing I did was download dayz. I tried to run it but it has the same black screen problem

The closest I’ve gotten to even looking at a loading screen was when I put bulldozer from perimeters but it just crashes and no response after a while

Could this possibly be a driver issue? was the OS install clean? Have you installed any additional software that was on the previous computer? Are you running latest versions of the drivers? And have you tried to run sfc scannow to check for any corrupted files or folders? Also do you have Steam cloud sync enabled? We suggest disabling it and deleting everything related to DayZ (Documents folder etc) and then do a clean install again.

the OS intall was clean. no when i first got my pc the first thing i did was download dayz and i had the black screen issue right away. I have the latest drivers. Last time i reinstalled dayz one of the forums said to disable cloud sync and delete anything related to dayz in my folders. i did that and its still the same
