AS Val / SVAL zeroing issue
Feedback, NormalPublic

Description

Currently the SVAL without optical attachments is zeroed at 160m by default which cannot be adjusted. Since it fires slow subsonic rounds, zeroing it to higher distances leads to a higher firing angle than other weapons with faster bullets. This creates issues when fighting at close distances (where this weapon is usually used) causing the bullets to fly over the targets head when aiming at their body.

This happens when aiming down iron sights or when hipfiring regardless if a sight is attached.

I suggest allowing players to adjust the zeroing, or at least having the default setting be at 25m or 50m where this weapon is usually most effectively used in this game.

Steps To Reproduce

Fire/Hipfire SVal at targets around 20-40 meters away. I don't have the exact numbers in my head however I haven't had this problem with the VSS which is zeroed lower by default.

Additional Information

For players there are several ways to circumvent the issue:

  • Aim at the legs to hit the chest which feels unnatural
  • Using an optic that can be zeroed at 25m, however when using hipfire, the weapon is still zeroed at 160m which is really annoying

Event Timeline

The VSS is zeroed to 100m by default for comparison.
