Currently, when opening a read-only world, all entities are displayed as part of the default layer.
This makes it a lot harder to see what entities are present in that world - you either have to go through a very long list (which is impractical for terrains), or try to do lots of targeted searches (which might miss things).
Displaying the original layers should not be a problem from a technical viewpoint since they are still present in the PAK format.

Correction, this is only the case for the official worlds, not all read-only worlds - so likely just a part of your publishing process.
While it would still be useful to preserve these layers (both as reference material and for making derivative content), this is not actually a technical issue and can be closed.
