DayZ - a sudden blackscreen and a crash on the startup of the game.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi guys, i wanted to get back into the game but everytime i try to turn it on its just a blackscreen and then it crashes.
I played the game normally for like 10 minutes, then i changes the graphic settings to high and after a few another minutes the game crashed and I haven't been able to load in the game properly eversince.

I tried:

Veryfying the integrity of the game files

Running everything in common in dayz folder as an administrador and turning off the fullscreen optimilization in the compatibility settings of every exe.

Also fully reinstalled the game.

The game crashes even on the normal vanilla launcher and even in dzsa laucnher. My game just crashed once in the middle of playing and now I cant even turn it on.

This is the crash code: 0xC0000005 - STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION

Could someone help? I have no idea what else to try...

Now also tried removing completely everything that has something to do with dzsa launcher and deleted all mods. Verified game integrity again, tried launching the game without mods and in windowed, still doesnt work. Reinstalled anticheat. Tried lauchning the game in buldozer. Nothing works...

I'm running into a similar issue here. Does the game run without crashing if you keep hardware antialiasing disabled? You can do this by navigating to Documents/DayZ/DayZ.cfg and setting MSAA to 0.

Hello Hawkerr_.
Can you please try the following?

Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (Make sure Steam Cloud Sync is disabled prior to doing this) or delete the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder manually

Open the DayZ launcher
Select PARAMETERS menu
Select ALL PARAMETERS tab
scroll down and check "Bulldozer" parameter
Launch the game
Once launched, close the game
Uncheck bulldozer
Launch the game again without any parameters

Geez

Hi Geez,

I can't speak for Hawkerr_, but I've personally tried all of the above to no avail.

Many thanks

I have found a sollution!

Personally I am using an AMD graphics card, and you have to change some settings in the AMD Adrenaline software:

Radeon Anti-Lagg = OFF
Radeon Image Sharpening = OFF

I think it was the image sharpening causing the crash. I hope this helps!
