No Sound for Arma 3 at all
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi there,

Probably one of those old bugs however, I've tried basically all methods except for formatting my pc which I really wish not to.
Below are the list of things I tried.

  1. setting cpu core manually to maximum, checking all other launcher params
  2. sfc/scannow
  3. Direct X SDK install, Direct X install / repair
  4. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Clean Install
  5. Changing Audio Devices and checking Spatial Sound on/off Enhance features On/Off (I have Wireless Headset, Wired Speakers directly connected to speaker)
  6. Manually adding x3daudio1_7.dll file to the game directory both x86 and x64
  7. Re Install of Arma 3
  8. Deleting Arma 3 Folder in Documents folder
  9. Re Installing graphics / audio driver
  10. Installing sound Mod JSRS

Of course all other programs emits sound just fine.
Indeed this is a new machine built however am not sure what is causing this issue.
I've tried debugging using process monitor myself but nothing seems to be related except for x3daudio1_7.dll which I've already tried.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions for fixing this issue as my life is becoming dull and painful without Arma.. ToT

Hi Team,
Just wondering if there's any progress on this query, using 32bit poses another problem which is shortage of memory crashing the game frequently.

  • Another thing I tried => reinstalling openAL32

Thanks.

I have never seen that before.

Google gives me useless results, and one user that had this issue on Arma 2 in 2016.
Could it be that your audio device doesn't support 44.1kHz, or stereo audio?

I also find other random reports of audio in other games. I have no idea.

Hey there,

I eventually had to format my windows and finally 64 bit version works.
I believe it's something to do with the system dlls however strange non of the methods I tried could fix it.

Thanks for your attention and I think this thread can be closed now.
