Dayz client crashes with status access violation when joining modded community server
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

I have been experiencing problems joining various servers, with the client crashing with "status access violation" while connecting to the server. This has happened recently on more than one server. I have tried various methods to fix, based on what I've found here in this form and elsewhere online. The problem eventually goes away, despite no specific action being taken on my part since last attempt to connect.

Please advise.

Steps taken multiple times, and in different combinations:

-Verify files in Steam (cleaning up configs, logs, firewall)
-Update mods
-Unsub/resub all mods
-Uninstall/reinstall dayz
-Delete My Documents\Dayz folder
-Disable cloud sync in Steam
-Enable UAC virtualization for Dayz client
-Update Video card drivers
-Disable HW acceleration in Video card config

In my case, I just need to try to join the modded server in question, and I receive this error each time while attempting to connect.

Hello mnkybtlr.
Does this always occur on the same servers or does this happen across various servers? And would you be able to send more crash dumps? Either way so far it seems it is related to modded content (missing mods on your end)

Hi Geez, thanks for the reply. It tends to happen at random on the few servers I play on. So, no it is not always the same server - I can think of three different servers (at different times) off the top of my head. I can send more crash dumps, but I believe I've recently purged my logs so I will need to wait until it happens again.

Regarding your suggestion, if it was a mod issue (missing mod, or wrong version), would that not have been solved for if I updated all mods prior to joining? That has been my habit since I started encountering these issues.

Ok, that didn't take long. I was playing on a server today (where I encountered this issue before) - I then closed the game and restarted it about an hour later. I updated all mods prior to joining. Received the same Status Access Violation as before. The crash report is attached.

Thank you.
It appears like the crashes are caused by some mod and unfortunately there is nothing we can do as the issue has to be fixed by the mod creator.
Regards?
Geez

Thanks Geez. Can you tell me how you are determining that from the information provided? I'd like to be able to interpret these myself if possible.

What I mean is how can I tell if a mod is causing the issue, and ideally pinpoint which mod. If I'm going to open a bug report with mod author, would be helpful to determine which mod is causing it.

Unfortunately we cannot pinpoint which mod causes this. We only can tell that the crashes occur due to modded content.
