EXP 1.22 Alt-F4 does not work!
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Alt-F4 does not work.

This is great for trolls... but BAD for buggy mods.
Every once in a while a badly coded mod gets published and requires the player to use Alt-F4 to exit to desktop.

Users might be able to get Task manager open with Ctrl-Shift-ESC but I wouldn't rely on that if the game locks the cursor to the primary display and it pops up on another monitor. A lot of gamers have 2 monitors... some have 4+

Hello Nate_LapT.
The cursor should not lock to the display any more on the 1.22 exp.
Can you please confirm?

I'll try that while loading in later tonight.. but I'm not able to produce a bad mod on demand.

Instances I'm referring to, is some mods when exiting the game will hang on a blank screen, or any other type of crash that keeps the user from reaching their desktop.

Someone explained this was probably implemented to deter combat logging.. I guess that 1 extra second matters...
But it'll causes more trouble for users with real issues.

I've been using alt-f4 to quickly close the game while testing mod changes.
I don't need a clean shutdown and just want to get back to my mods and swap in an update to see if the change is working.

Example. In the DayZ Editor mod, currently network lighting doesn't update until the game is restarted. I'll make some changes to my design save, then be forced to wait through multiple exit screens in the mod just to restart.
A time difference of about 15 seconds or more.
That doesn't sound like a lot but when you add up loading back in and doing this a dozen times it is quite long.

Hello Nate_LapT.
We have tested this on Exp (1.22) and Stable (1.21) and behavior is the same on both versions:

player is able to alt-f4 when in inventory screen, main menu, loading screen, disconnecting, in esc menu.

interesting..

I'll verify on official tonight, but currently this does not function when connected to my server. (Verified by multiple players)

it's as if the alt key is not recognized and only F4 is pressed resulting in the player giving the finger emote.

I didn't get to test on official, but I did notice what you mentioned.

Pressing Esc to pull up the game menu then alt-F4 did function as you stated.

If this is fixing other issues I guess this is fine.
I just hope when players experience a broken mod that crashes the game we don't get stuck.

Thanks
