Hi there,

Just wondering could you possibly help me out on fixing this issue please?
What i've tried so far is:

  • Wiped the DayZ folder inside AppData
  • Flushed Steams Configs
  • Removed my DayZ folder from Documents
  • Verified Game Files
  • Reinstalled Game
  • Installed newest GPU driver
  • Reinstalled Battleye
  • Restarted PC
  • Checked temps for GPU (they're fine)
  • Windows 11 is fully updated (although I'm not sure if DayZ would possibly need a patch for this OS?
  • Tried different compatibility modes for Steam/DayZ (Running as Admin, compatibility mode for older windows)
  • Disabled Steam Overlay
  • Tried Launching DayZ without mods too inside the launcher
  • Tested if the game would load up from the install location (DayZ_x64) and that worked however when loading into a server i'd get kicked after a while as it says "Battleye is not loaded, please restart the game).

Would really appreciate the support, really looking forward to hopping back into some DayZ!

Completely forgot to mention too, before the pop up it says "Unable to locate a running instance of Steam." before giving me the "Error 0x00000001 UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXGI" crash in launcher.

Hello Naarj.
Did you install the win 11 from clean slate or was it an upgraded from previous version through the upgrade feature? As some players have reported issues when using the upgrade feature and Installing clean OS has resolved the issues for them.
Also have you tried to reinstall Steam?

Hi there!

You nailed it in the last part of the message, I thought it would've been a long shot but I managed to sort it yesterday by reinstalling steam to my C drive (where DayZ is installed). I previously had it on my other drive and for some reason when launching it wasn't connecting steam to DayZ due to the game and steam being on separate drives.
Really appreciate the help!
