Game Crash - 0xC0000005 - STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

I'm unable to start the game. It makes no difference between using the launcher or the client directly.

I can not tell, if the problem appeared after an (gpu-)driver or windows update but im to 85% sure it worked until the last time I updated the game via steam.

Things I already tried:

  • Setting "Start as an administrator" on all of dayz*.exe-Files in the steam folder.
  • Reparing the game via steam and deleting all possible data (Logs, settings and options, firewall rules) - here is steam always finding one corrupted file and downloads it. The result stays the same...

I changed my resolution settings through windows-os to 2560x1440 and managed to get the game started. Then I changed it back to 3440x1440 and now I get a really broken view of the game when I play it in full-screen mode. If I change the screen mode to window, the game is shown correctly. I think when the game ran without that crashes it scaled down my resolution but somehow that does not work anymore. If I change the settings to 2560x1440 the game works just fine. Is it possible that the game does not support WQHD? Would you suggest to downgrade the gpu driver?

I changed my windows resolution settings to be 2560x1440 but the game somehow ignores it and uses the full monitor size (which is 3440x1440)... Everything looks fine in windowed mode.

Hello jogerst.
The crashes points towards an issue with amdxx64.dll, therefore we recommend checking your drivers as the installation might be corrupted.
You can also try to disable full screen optimisations to see if that has any effect on the issue
