Steps To Reproduce

Reproducibility is set to Sometimes because only some have this issue - for those that do, it will be Always.
While I know that at least 1-2 others had this issue, this is likely not replicable by everyone.

  1. Create a new world, create a terrain, add some map-relevant things like roads
  2. Add SCR_MapEntity
  3. Open the Export Map Data tool, and perform any of the three operations - in this case, I'll take Geometry2D.
  4. Console output:

RESOURCES : Map Data(All) successfully generated
RESOURCES : Map Data(All) successfully exported to Folder/$ProjectName:ProjectName.topo

In reality, there will only be an empty (0 bytes) file in that location, with the extension-less name "$ProjectName".

While you might not be able to replicate this yourself, I hope that part with the empty $ProjectName file will help track down the issue.

Additional Information
  • This is not linked to the "Non-Square Terrain Crashes" bug I reported, it also occurs for square terrains.
  • There seems to be at least some processing going on, as this still takes a few seconds. Maybe it's export related?
  • Someone else reported having the same issue here
  • If this cannot be replicated but some further testing / diagnosis may help, please let me know
