I think DayZ gameplay could be improved, especially for beginners and players new to Livonia, if on the DLC map you started with a much better spawn loadout than you do when you start on Chernarus.
My argument for this is that on Chernarus you start as a castaway, washed up on a strange shore, not knowing where you are or what to do.
However with Livonia you're in-land, so you must have come there from somewhere else (Chernarus?) and therefore you'd have more gear in your inventory, you would have already picked up some of the basics to survive.
The game could give you a random selection of better items, such as Hunter Clothes, Firemans Clothes, Improvised Backpacks, Shotgun & ammo, compass, canned food & drink, etc.
