If i try to start DayZ it crashes in most cases after a few seconds with the error code 0x80000101.
Sometimes it doesnt but then it hangs on a black screen forever.
The DayZ AppData folder contains only a single cache_lock file which is empty.
My Machine:
Debian 12 - Linux 5.19.0-2-amd64
Proton 7.0-4
AMD Ryzen 3800
Nvidia RTX 2070 Super
24GB 3600 mhz DDR4 Ram
Try'd to install the game to an NVME and HDD.
I also allready extended the vm limit by adding vm.max_map_count=1048576 to sysctl.
Install DayZ on debian.
Open launcher.
Try to connect to any server (official or not).

Please try the following:
Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (make sure Steam cloud sync is disabled for DayZ before doing this) - you can also delete the config files manually by clearing the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder
Open the DayZ launcher
Select PARAMETERS menu
Select ALL PARAMETERS tab
scroll down and check "Bulldozer" parameter
Launch the game
Once launched, close the game
Uncheck bulldozer
Launch the game again without any parameters

Im not sure if its now working, i will test it tomorrow more and will left here a reply but after MANY restarts and trying it seems like it works now if i set the bulldozer mode on, click on play without selecting a server, and then close the game, disable bulldozer mode and join on a server. Weird.
