Hello. The current dodge animation/mechanic in DayZ appears inconsistent with how targeting is calculated in DayZ.
When you raise your fists and perform the Q/E dodge animation, your character travels from side to side. With the melee lock on mechanic in DayZ, an attack can visually miss and hit another player due to being "close enough" to a body part despite the player dodging. The lock on should be temporarily disabled until the end of the animation to ensure their movement matters. This simple feature would allow players to engage more dynamically when attempting to get the Close and personal achievement or when completing their own goals with melee.
Additionally, I feel as if the dodge animation moves you too little and is too slow for the commitment you make. There is also a pause at the end of the animation that makes it take longer to swing after you are done dodging, ruining the chance for a counter attack.
