To begin, I'd like to explain that I am new to DayZ, I have just purchased the game after waiting quite a while to begin playing. And was very excited to have a game I truly knew I'd pour my heart into to play again. Now, this also means that when this bug occurred, I was disappointed that I could not play the game, but I do understand that bugs happen and I am not upset about this happening to me. I am just happy that I don't believe it is happening to anyone else.
Now, as for the bug:
Whenever I enter a building, my audio completely cuts out. That is not an understatement, I lose all audio of the game and therefore cannot hear players, surroundings, NPCs, and anything remotely close to me happening. This issue can ONLY be fixed from my findings by completely closing and relaunching the game, and beings once again once entering or spawning into another building. This issue can also happen when entering almost anything including the most minuscule of sheds that have a roof above your head.

Hello Hijax.
Do you use any form of non standard setup: 7.1/5.1 headphones or speaker setup? If you do and switch to stereo, does this occur as well? The issue you are describing could be caused by faulty audio driver.

Geez
Hello!
I run with a HyperX Cloud II Pro Wired Headset, I am unsure if that presents any issues seeing I'm unsure of what 7.1/5.1 headphones mean. I am sorry for the lack of knowledge, but I hope this answers your question. If so what do you recommend I do to fix the error?

I seem to be experiencing the same issue, I thought it was possibly just the modded server I've been playing in. Loaded an official server and happened instantly. Every discussion I've read on steam goes cold or gets zero response. I have almost 40hrs played with a total of maybe 15min of total game sound, I can speak to players but have to tell them to send a message in chat as reply. I'm using a HyperX Cloud Alpha S with 7.1 surround sound
