I almost can't hear what's happening behind the character or to character's right/left side. I hear everything quietly, or just can't hear anything. For example, inside car I can turn my head and engine sounds disappear. Shots from behind sound very quietly, until I turn my head towards them. I use HyperX stereo headphones with no external drivers, pluged via mini-jack, but mostly i use speakers 2.1. Audio settings in Windows changed to 32 bit. Tried to reinstall the game, checked the in-game files, doesn't help. Windows surround sound is disabled. This thing doesn't appear to be in other games. This problem happens both on headphones and speakers. I've been looking for this problem on forums and i'm not the only one with that issue. Year passed and i still can't play DayZ normally because of that.
Seems like DayZ makes the sound system like i play on 5.1 or 7.1 system and this system makes me always to turn my head towards shots, booms and so on. But I also found out that players' voices can be heard just fine from every direction.
Guys, I beg you to help me, coz i spen't almost 2k hours on that game and now i just can't play it, as i played it before. I'm almost deaf, because can't hear anything from behind and very quietly from right/left sides.
