7.1 audio - back and surround channels are swapped
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

According to windows multichannel format description, the channels order in a stream should be following:
0:FL 1:FR 2:FC 3:LFE 4:BL 5:BR 6:SL 7:SR

When testing 7.1 audio in game, I noticed that back and surround channels pairs are swapped:
0:FL 1:FR 2:FC 3:LFE 4:SL 5:SR 6:BL 7:BR
Please make the 7.1 channel order correct.

  • Find a distinct sound source on the map and stand near it.

I also noticed that voice talk is barely hearable when someone talks behind me. Like it is not properly distributed to side and back channels.
This causes that when driving a car I can hear only person on the front right passenger seat. To hear players on back seats I need to rotate the head which is disturbing during a drive.
This happens when in-game audio is set to "Speakers" and my system speaker configuration is set to 7.1.
When switching to "Stereo" mode in game settings, the VoIP can be heard from behind correctly (but then the in-game audio is not positional, only stereo).
