DayZ Crashes PC After Attempting to Join Server
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Hi, I have recently ran into a problem with DayZ crashing my computer after trying to join a server. I've tried joining both modded and vanilla servers using multiple launchers including the vanilla. it ramps up my RAM until 100% which causes my pc to crash. i have 1000+ hours into this game and have never came across this problem. I've seen multiple threads about this issue dating back multiple years and was wondering if anyone has had the same issue recently or knows how to solve it. Ive deleted/reinstalled multiple times and verified game files but nothing has worked. I've had a variety of error codes ranging from "status access violation", "unable to init DXGI", to " DayZ has exited in a unusual manor". Immediately after launching a server the application becomes unresponsive and the RAM slowly increases unless I force quit the application. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

hey the same thing happened to me my memory was 99% i did everything i even changed from windows 10 to 11 and it didn't help i'm lost and i don't know what else to do

From what I’ve read people are saying it has something to do with the config files of DayZ which somewhat makes sense. Every other game loads up fine except DayZ. I figured deleting and redownloading would help but to no avail. I also copied config files from DayZ EXP to regular but that didn’t seem to work either.

Hello youthBlood.
Can you please try the following?

Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (Make sure Steam Cloud Sync is disabled prior to doing this) or delete the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder manually

Open the DayZ launcher
Select PARAMETERS menu
Select ALL PARAMETERS tab
scroll down and check "Bulldozer" parameter
Launch the game
Once launched, close the game
Uncheck bulldozer
Launch the game again without any parameters

Geez

And by launched you mean what? Because when i attempt to load into a server with buldoze checked it does the very same thing. Black screen freeze.
