This happened since 1.16. Options are quite messed up.
If you want to change Audio, or Controls, when you click those tabs the game will tell you that you have unsaved changes to abandon - which is obviously not true.

Then if you go to audio and try and change the volume sliders and you happen to be sprinting, then your player will start punching !!!
If you are standing still, then the camera will follow your mouse movement.
