For the past few weeks I have noticed an increase in game crashes, happening every day. A few other server owners and players have noticed this as well. Anywhere from a handful to half the server will black screen/hard game crash. Server itself does not restart. Looks like there is a disconnect from the client and server somehow. I've noticed when this happens my saved character changes. Not my in game player with loot, that is saved but the selected player model or customized character is no longer saved.

Nitrado suggests migrating to a new physical host. I have had this server moved to new hosts twice this month already and per nitrado its on one of the least populated servers with the most resources available. Also on a fresh reinstall of the gameserver. I dont know if this is a bohemia or nitrado issue but its getting exhausting going over so many errors and problems with dayz.

Event Timeline

This is still happening.. This time there were less than 10 people on the server. It happens at low or high population, doesn't matter. I have a ticket open with Nitrado but troubleshooting from that end has been unfruitful so far.

I'm sorry, I just wanted to get to know everyone.

that doesn't explain the sketchy url for soundcloud to mp3 that is completely unrelated to game development..

I have an open ticket with NItrado support in regards to this. They have moved my server from New York to Miami, reinstalled, made changes to the back-end configuration of the server( they would not elaborate on their exact processes due to policy ). I have provided them with my public IP and trace route information as well as many logs containing the same no packets errors that are shown above. All to no resolve as of yet but they are still working on the issue.

This is happening every day, sometimes multiple times in the same 2 hour server session. Happens with anywhere from low to full pop.

I believe the issue is the game crashing and causing the client to stop sending and receiving packets not that the packet loss is the root. NItrado seems to be focusing on the symptom not the root.

Geez, this happens multiple times every day. Can you please help me on this?

I have given up on nitrado, they keep suggesting to move the server over and over after we have done this many times. They do not have the ability to resolve this.

Can y'all please look at this? I've had this ticket in for three weeks now and the issue seems to be getting worse. Other people have submitted tickets about the crashing on other servers. I can provide any information you need to help in your troubleshooting.

I have no experience in DayZ's Server Logic but it seems the server has reached a maximum resource usage and fails on keeping users connected or does Nitrado have that restriction?

But i've got some experience in ARK from Nitrado and its horrible, never got the "could not retrieve network address" issue fixed.

I spent weeks trying to resolve this with Nitrado and they moved my game-server to different physical machines many times and to different data centers as well, to servers with a large amount of resources available and still happens.

What mods do you have on the server, it'd have to be something you done to cause it?

its console so don't really have any mods.. i have edited a lot of the code but everything has been validated. also this is happening on other servers and there are other ppl in here with tickets about crashes, im not sure if its my code but im open to letting ppl look through it. the server itself isn't crashing totally or restarting its kicking half the people and leaving the other half

Apparently someone else has the same random kick issue on ARK, one of the Moderators said it could be a corrupted file but other than that i would suggest finding someone who excels in Enforce to look at your code - good luck though servers are a pain

I understand its enforce or c at a lower level but on console i have no access to any of that its all xml and json

a month now and still nothing. can someone please help?

Whats the current memory usage displayed on your nitrado dashboard (MB)? Ive found when reaching high readings i get more game crashes/kick outs.

Also what changes are you running in types? Do you have hidden class names spawning?added? Non original items, unfinished non working etc?

I have two small map pvp death match servers and it happens on both. zelenogorsk and nwaf. they both have high loot, zelenogorsk has 0 events and only 1 single json spawned building, nwaf has 1 event with 2 cars and around 75 json spawned buildings. I have also seen this issue on other servers. memory from 3700-4200 on one and
4000-5000 on the other.

I have attached the types file from both servers. if you upload them to https://dayztypes.pro/ you can see the few items i have spawning in by ordering the nominals. I believe the 75rnd drum ak mag might be the only item not in vanilla. I have had this item in game for a year and this issue just started a couple months ago. i was running both servers with the same shorter lifetime values of the two files and yesterday changed one to have longer lifetime values for testing, thinking possibly too many items were being cleaned up and going through the loot respawner engine at the same time.

The types file looks ok,, when i had kick out issues for select players it was due to a bad connection to the host server for certain locations, moving to the frankfurt location solved it for me.

lowing the zonespawndistance in the globals file helped with game freezing and crashes for alot of members too.

i dont have any zombies on my servers so the spawn dist wont help. i have attempted troubleshooting with nitrado for a month or more now and they have moved my server many times to different physical hosts as well as migrating from miami to new york and back to miami all with no resolve. i sent them trace route reports and everything. they literally suggested moving to miami right after they moved my server to miami. dealing with their support is tiring.

Im having very similar issues tbh but this has only been happening since 1.16 dropped Getting crashes all the time and random Geometry and animation errors, been back and fourth with nitrado for 4 days and they keep telling me its fixed everytime they do something new, now the sent me to this site to try and get some info. Ive tried everything to get it solved, The weird thing is i have 4 servers and one of them is identical to the one im having issues with but that server is not getting any issues. If you hear anything would love to know what the problem was. good luck

Hello DickShackleford.
It is possible that the issues you are experiencing are related to the changes you have made to the modifiable files.

Can you try the following?:

  • Save all server modified files somewhere
  • Revert all changes that has been done towards the server files
  • Run the server (vanilla version without any modifications)
  • Test the server
  • If the issue persists - it's most-likely on Nitrado's side
  • If the issue is gone - start adding your modifications one by one and test them along the way.
