Force using "IP fail over" for my DayZ Server
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello,

It would be interesting to be able to enter the IP address of its in the serverDZ.cfg configuration file. This will allow the use of an "IP fail over" instead of the main IP of the server. Currently, only the main IP is used which makes it impossible to use a failover IP on a DayZ server.

I hope this problem can be resolved ... :/

Best regards,

Draowyr

Steps To Reproduce
  • Use Windows Server with configured IP fail over
  • Search your server in DayZ, look the IP adress

If you try to connect manually with your IP fail over, it's work and you can join your server. But in server list, your server can be find with the only primary IP adress.

OK. Problem resolved.

Please, can you update your Wiki for add this two parameters : "-interface=", and "ip=" ? We can not find this parameters here : https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/DayZ:Server_Configuration

Now, I can use my IP fail over without issue.

Kiss kiss. I still love you DayZ Dev Team

Hello Draowyr.
If you remove the -interface= param, does this still work? and can you send us all the parameters you are using?

Geez

Hello Geez,

For launch my DayZ Server I use all this parameters : "-config=serverDZ.cfg -interface=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -ip=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -port=2302 -profiles=ServerProfile "-mod=!MODS_TO_LOAD!%" -cpuCount=2 -noFilePatching -dologs -adminlog -freezecheck"

But when I launch without -interface= parameter, it works great too. This addition was not necessary to resolve my issue.

I'm not sure what the "-interface=" parameter does. But since my failover IP is configured on my one and only network interface, I imagine that the "-ip=" parameter is more than sufficient in my case: I have two IPs on the same interface.

Like that :

Good end of the day to you,
