This is a very small thing, but would be a nice 'quality of life' tweak.
Given that players need to break down long sticks FAR more often than sharpening them, it seems logical for the 'split' action option to appear first.
In a player's haste to make a fire when their survival is on the line, it's incredibly easy to accidentally sharpen a stick instead of splitting it. The misclick becomes exponentially more frustrating when your tool you're using only has a couple uses left before it's ruined.
Given that the animations for both actions are the same, a player can't tell that they picked the wrong option by mistake until it's too late.
From an 'authenticity' perspective, it would be hard to argue that a person IRL who was intending to cut a stick into pieces wouldn't be aware that they were actually sharpening the stick instead.
