I think I fixed it with https://feedback.bistudio.com/T158124, cannot reproduce after that fix
Please retry in next weeks profiling branch update
I saw an update, now on version 2.04.147581. Still occurring in koth. wasn't able to test in editor yet https://youtu.be/q3W-kPNHR1E. the bug was occurring in koth before the update also.
I was also able to reproduce this in the latest profiling branch (2.04.147757) https://youtu.be/zFAUbPdNrcI
Me from 23rd june
Player on ground. CH-47 Huron flying above.
Press Esc, open audio menu. Press Refresh, Click OK, click Continue to get back in game. All fine.
Press Esc, open audio menu. Press Refresh, Click Cancel, click Continue to get back in game. All fine.
Press Esc, open audio menu. Press Refresh, Press Esc, press Esc to get back in game. All fine.
Press Esc, open audio menu. Press Refresh, Press Esc, click Continu to get back in game. All fine.
I just retested on latest profiling. No repro again.
I even set the volume to 0 to be sure that I'm not just not noticing a very slight difference.
But nope, after Esc'ing out of the dialog audio is still at 0.
Okey I got repro. The issue is with the "Refresh" audio button, or simply changing your output device.
I debugged all our volume parameters and found that we send the exact same volume to the XAudio API that we use to play back our sounds.
So after a reset we provide the same input parameters, but that API decides to double the volume for whatever magic reason that I can't seem to find.
So this bug will probably stay for a while
