At the moment you can sprint and strafe at what looks to be 45 degrees. Given the realistic approach to movement and other mechanics in DayZ, this should be toned down because it's impossible for a person to strafe like that while sprinting (feel free to try it). Even while jogging, it shouldn't be a whopping 45 degrees.
