Can’t do anything within the server
Need More Info, UrgentPublic

Description

So my mate had recently purchased a private server for 30 days which he will be making it a full public server very soon. I’ve had countless issues, such as not being able to open doors, using my inventory, seeing my friends move around when on their screen I’m moving fine, I don’t think it’s my internet as I have atleast 20 MBPS but I’m starting to think it’s my console. I’m using the original Xbox One console to play it whereas all my friends have the Xbox One S, I’ve tried countless times of logging out and back in, restarting my Xbox and nothing has changed, currently I’m in the private sever and I’m stuck in a building and I can’t open the doors, I can’t even use the suicide emote to try and get out, I’m frozen and can’t do anything is there anything you can do or have any advise because I have soo much loot I don’t want to lose.

It was running fine up until I came across one of my friends in a server then the bugs began to happen, usually a quick relog would sort it now it’s completely stopped and I can’t do anything

Hello Kylepembery.
Do you have this problem on other servers as well? Also, are you using VPN?
Regards,
Geez

On the official servers I couldn’t say as I haven’t played much of them since my friend now owns a server but it’s the community ones I seem to be having trouble with, and no I don’t use a VPN, could it be lag or the console by any chance? I average around 20MBPS download and 9MBPS upload and I’m on the original Xbox One console, my friends say they can see my character moving around and being normal but for me they’re are frozen in place and I cannot leave the building I am in and don’t want to incase I die, I have new internet coming Monday which is 10X better than my current internet, would a Ethernet cable sort it maybe?

Hello Kylepembery.
It is possible that the issue is related to unstable connection, please let us know if anything has changed once you are on the new internet you are expecting. Ethernet cable should definitely improve the latency also.

I have my new internet now with an Ethernet cable, 200MBP/S and 20MBP/S upload and it was working for awhile up until the server was restarted and then it went back to not allowing me to do anything. I really want this solved as soon as possible, maybe it could be my console? Too many spawns on the map could be messing it up perhaps? I really don’t know but I need a solution.

Hello again.
Do you experience this on all the available servers or just specific ones? What is the population on the servers when you are experiencing the problems?
Regards,
Geez

Only on my friends private server and there’s only usually 4-5 of us on there, I think it may be related to the number of spawns on the map, considering my friend had increased a bunch of loot like guns, vehicles and food drops, every zombie that is killed has food on them. Could there be too much on the map for my game to stop functioning properly? My internet is certainly out of the equation as it’s extremely fast compared to my friends who play on the server and they have zero issues but are all on newer consoles. I don’t play official servers.

Hello Kylepembery.
Can you try doing a traceroute towards this specific server?
Regards,
Geez

How would I do this, it’s a friends server so I need to let him know, I’ve also just upgraded to a Xbox Series X and was working perfectly fine for two days and it’s starting to happen again. We completely wiped the server and all our characters were wiped and my character is the only one who keeps running into these issues and I shouldn’t be at all.

Hello Kylepembery.
You need to do a traceroute towards the server IP from a computer that is connected to the same network as your xbox is - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-use-tracert-to-troubleshoot-tcp-ip-problems-in-windows-e643d72b-2f4f-cdd6-09a0-fd2989c7ca8e
