According to the wiki the disease cholera symbol is what my friend and i experience but the symptoms and the ability for us to share the disease back and fourth would appear to be the symptoms of influenza, tetracycline seems to cure it for a temporary time but it would appear our characters are on an endless loop of passing this back and fourth thru coughing and sneezing. Even if we both have no symbol any longer within 20 min of game play it will return to one or both characters.

Steps To Reproduce
Im not 100% sure as we still have yet to just let both characters die but my assumption is that since we have split up the characters and both gained "cured" status or at least no longer had the symbol for cholera and were no longer sneazing or coughing but shortly into game play with no consumption of food or water to avoid infection the disease symbol for cholera returns and symptoms for the flu return

It would appear that once you become sick you will always get sick within a short time of curing it again, its an official server but im unsure which one without logging in, its certainly a US official server no mods or anything so im not sure what is the cause but hopefully this helps shed light on the situation or points to some area unlooked at. sorry if its a waste of time, have a great day!

Have you tried to separate for a moment until the sickness passes? Also, since you mention you did not consume any water, does this mean you also did not drink from any bottle? As bottles can carry the diseases.
