Cannot start anymore after update to the latest version.

At around 95% of the progress bar, the game crashes.

Exact same issue started today for me as well. Cant play the game i payed money for. Please resolve ASAP as this is extremely frustrating.

Sazzy just read through some earlier forums posts and the following worked for this issue for me:

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\*YourID*\
In there, you have the following folders
221100 for stable client
1024020 for experimental

Delete the whole 221100 folder.
Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (Make sure Steam Cloud Sync is disabled prior to doing this)

how did u fix it?? did u follow what zotherzig said?

Add -nocharmenu to your launch parameters and if that doesn't work follow all these steps:

Yes, but what is written in this thread alone didn't help. I also had to type "-nocharmenu" in the Steam options. You can find this solution somewhere else on this site.

Don't forget to reboot your PC after this procedure. 🙂
