I had accidentally placed my ij pistol in the fire place storage while the fire was on. I was trying to take a stick out into inventory and pressed x to swap the item instead of square to move it to inventory and it swapped with the pistol that was in my hand. I waited for the fire to go out and for the embers to die out, but I was still un able to take out the pistol.
