When ever I attempt to join a server I receive the following message and the game will not start:
DayZ has exited in an unusual manner
Launcher has detected that DayZ closed unusually.

This appears to be an issue with your Visual C++ driver.
Please uninstall the driver and then do a clean installation of the latest version.
