Why doesn't BIS make it's own launcher ??????

We are stuck with Maca134's DZSAL !

You saw what he did with the Mod and his DayZ Launcher, he as good as shut the mod down by removing Epoch 1.0.5.1 and forcing server owners to use Epoch 1.0.6.x at a time when it was incompatible with pre-existing mods and maps !
And then by removing 60% of the maps from his app to save bandwidth.

At any time he can decided to close his app down and totally screw DayZ. He decides what maps are supported. Or, if he wants to be a bastard, he can remove Livonia. and there's nothing BIS can do about it.

Why do you allow a third person, a non-BIS employee to dictate the future of DayZ ?

Hello malau.
There is already an official DayZ launcher that is opened by launching the game through Steam. There will possibly be updates to it in the future.
