while you blocking - you will not receive any damage (stamina and health) by another player melee attacks
So you can hold block and wait forever in the corner - your opponent can't hurt you even with axe - you can block all his attacks with bare hands

Melle block (hold RMB and walk backwards)
ask somebody to hit you non stop
your stamina and health are not spend
