All Face Wear in Arma 3 disappears as soon as the player is 1 toe in the water, reappears when exiting. There is no option to DISABLE that.

Description

When a player in Arma 3 on any server including the Editor steps 1 toe into the water, face wear worn by the player disappears, it reappears as soon as player exits the water.
There is no config option to disable that behaviour. Amount of mods that use facewear slot for various gear is huge, and yet all those mods struggle with that "feature".

There is a config option for cfgglasses called "mode=".
"mode=1" makes facewear to behave like underwater glasses, so that it appears in water but disappears when on land.
There is no other option that would enable facewear to be shown both on land and in water. This design "feature" breaks all facewear gear mods.

Please make it so that mode=0 or mode=-1 disables that "feature".

This! I built a scene of Navy SEALs in the surf and the instructors keep removing and putting back on their dark shades when their feet get wet. Took me awhile to figure out why it was happening.

Would you be fine if it would only switch the glasses when you actually swim, not when just your feet touch water?

2.08 adds mode=4 (DivingAndOverwater) mode

Also the transition happens when you enter swimming state, instead of when you touch water
