Base Building Render Lag Bubble
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

It's regarding lag spikes we receive when we reach a distance of 1km from our HQ. This has been tested from all directions and it appears to have something to do with the rendering of our built base at the blue tin (shown in link).

No lags occur at those locations when we leave the HQ, it is only ever when we are heading towards it. I know you guys are looking into server FPS drops and wanted to share my findings with you.

Steps To Reproduce

Construct tower, leave to a distance of 1km in any direction. Return towards the tower. Client performance will spike and freeze when the 1km render / bubble is entered into.

Additional Information

I have some additional science evidence about the base lags. On the After Zero server we have not built any towers. There is absolutely no lag spikes at the 1km bubble edge.
FYI

  • We have 34 fences fully built, 6 of them with platforms and 12 of them as gates.
  • We have 47 camo net posts (posts only with camo net added, no frame, no walls).

All producing zero lags.

We have confirmed the lags are due to towers and not related to fences with nails, metal sheets/ planks attached.

I hope this helps.

Event Timeline

I can confirm this bug still exists,

The same thing still happens when running to places with people already there, for example, when around 1km from NWAF you will get a lag spike and this indicates another player or base has entered your bubble and so you know someone is likely at NWAF. its kinda game breaking and I would like any updates on the issue.

This bug can also make driving cars at high speeds very dangerous as a freeze can make the car go off course. This ofc does not take into account the magnitude of issues with cars themselves. those just compound the issue.

Hello.
This is a known issue and it is scheduled for a fix.
Regards,
Geez
