The crash happened during singleplayer campaign gameplay. I just had another crash just before posting this comment. The crashes occur very often.

So it is a random crash. It isn't tied to any specific mission or anything specific you do in game, correct?

Yeah, it just happens when I am playing. Not on any specific mission.
