when placing the combat knife into the combat boots, assigning a hotkey to the knife and have an empty spot available in the inventory, the combat knife will always be automatically placed to this empty sport and not back into the boot.

I think the problem is an underlying one where any object is placed back autoamtically into the next best spot.

In my opinion the hotbar should place the selected items right back into the same spot from where it was fetched initially.
