Unable to interact with surroundings when making use of quickbar functions
Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

When you have an item in your hand that can be combined with another item (e.g. a stick and knife), and you make use of the quickbar function (holding the number of the item you want to combine that's in the hotbar, e.g. number 6 for the knife), and perform the combine action (holding left mouse), makes you unable to interact with items and objects. Your hands will be seen as empty, and dragging items from inventory to the hands, or using a hotbar key will allow you to use those items normally.

To rid of this, you need to hold the hotbarkey of the corresponding object you used.

Note: I have not tested if this issue persists when the item in the hotbar 'despawns' (e.g. when you use all the ammo if that was in your hotbar).

Steps To Reproduce

Example objects: wooden stick and knife

  1. Put knife in a hotbar slot (e.g. 3)
  2. Take wooden stick to hand
  3. Hold 3 to combine wooden stick and knife
  4. Hold left click and 3 to perform the combination action (letting go of 3 during the process will interrupt the combination action (bug?))
  5. Realise you now can't open doors
  6. Hold 3 again
  7. Be able to open doors again

Hello Yincimaster and thank you for the report.
We have tested this issue on the experimental and stress test versions, but we were unable to reproduce the issue according to the reproduction steps you have provided.
If it is not an issue, can you try recording a video for us?
Regards,
Geez

Hey Geez,
I had to improvise but I got a video here: https://youtu.be/KZaU8BLlHNI

I noticed the item it is interacting with shows as still being held, even after letting go of the number (even though when you let go of the number BEFORE the combination is complete it puts the item back (which I personally find a little annoying).

When swapping items in hand it doesn't show you are holding the item anymore.

I don't believe this is the intended result.
I hope this helps with the issue!

Thank you for the video Yincimaster.
We have confirmed the issue and it has been scheduled for a fix. A workaround to not get this issue is to wait a couple of seconds before letting go off the quickbar and LMB keys upon finishing the action.

Geez
