July 16th, logged in to find new character. Had not played in 2-3 days, so figured the server was reset. No big deal. Spoke to other players and other players characters were not reset during this time.
Grouped up with friends, got out of Berezino and headed to the airfield. found some gear along the way, friends dropped gear for me to use. Equipped, played a while longer and logged out.
July 17th, logged in to the same gear as I had when I left. continued trek to airfield, killed 2 ungeared players, and made it to the airfield area. Set up to enter the airfield the following day to loot the hangers and other military structures in that area. logged out in a prone position just outside the fence of the airfield.
July 18th, logged in and found myself in a small rural town with the gear that I had BEFORE my friends dropped gear to help me.
This is probably the 4th time I have played, and came back to the game to find it has not persisted the inventory / position / data. This is extremely frustrating and results in a lot of lost time for the player to recover, and that's WITH having friends to help you. If I was alone playing this game, I would have quit.
Bugs are one thing, but this is a critical infrastructure piece of the game. If you cannot persist the player and inventory, you don't have a viable game.
There was no crash involved in any case when this has happened. You simply log out, and lose everything.
Let me be clear, I am not asking for my gear to be restored, I am asking for the bug to be fixed so I can play this game in the future. As it is, I cannot play this knowing that my progress may not be saved.
Thanks for listening, sorry this doesn't fit the normal bug report template.
