The game completely freezes when a large number of objects drawn by the video card
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Preamble
I can not help writing about this serious bug. I'm not sure that this is a mass problem, since computers are different for everyone, but I have this problem constantly.
I'll try to describe what happens. I'll start with the settings and hardware, as in this situation, I think it's worth mentioning.
The game is set up on minimal graphic characteristics. In addition, I set the following parameters in the startup parameters:

-maxMem=8192 -maxVRAM=2048 -cpuCount=4 -high -exThreads=7 -winxp

In addition, I made changes to the configuration files, reducing the values responsible for the range of objects, the density of vegetation, etc. I enclose my files:

Permission with which I comfortably play on my PC: 1280x720.
The characteristics of my PC (it's a laptop) can be found by name: samsung 880z

Direct problem writing
The essence of the problem is that the game periodically freezes. Everything freezes forever. The Windows task manager shows that the game "does not respond." It is necessary to complete the task or even restart the PC.

Steps To Reproduce

Over the past 3-4 days the game has been hanging about 20 times.

Observations
According to my observations, hovering is preceded by a sharp increase in the load on the video card. Namely, hangs most often occur:

  1. At the moment of sharp turn of a sight of the character in other party.
  2. Approaches to the city or the congestion of buildings when running at maximum speed.
Additional Information

It seems that my PC does not cope with the drawing of objects when the scene changes dramatically, which leads to the hang of the game.
Once again, I have set the graphic characteristics to the minimum possible. In this regard, graphic objects in the game are drawn from me only when I approach them. The game settings files I attached above.

DXDIAG

During the hang, the PC stops working. The characteristic sounds of the work are not audible. The cooler reduces the speed of rotation. The picture freezes (as it turns into a screenshot). The character can not move, the menu does not open. The game does not react to anything. Does not even turn off. At the same time the game does not crash, there are no errors on the screen, but nothing is possible with this.

Event Timeline

Today in Polyana, the game freezes in 10-30 seconds after connecting to the server. I tried on three different servers. I went about 10 times - every time the screen freezes.

After uninstall DayZ with remove DayZ configuration files folder and install DayZ again - freezes don't leave.

Hello mysuccess and thank you for the report.
Does the issue persist even upon removing the launch parameters you have set up and using the lowest possible configuration in video options (while leaving the configuration files as default)? Also, do you experience this issue on both v62 and v63? Have you checked if your hardware temperature is optimal while the game is running? And is the game being ran on correct GPU, considering you have two according to your dxdiag file?
Regards,
Geez

Hello,
Thanks for your recommendations. Everyone I check.
Already now I can answer a part:
The probem is observed only in version 0.63. In version 0.62, there are no such problems.
After the removal of the game and the folder with the configuration files, and then the subsequent restoration of the game and the default settings, the problem remains.
The temperature is within the normal range. Checked. Does not exceed the permissible values (for me it is not more than 90 degrees Celsius).

On account of whether the correct graphics accelerator is used to reverse the requests of the game - there is a suspicion that there is not. It will take time to check. As a result, unsubscribe in this ticket.

Additional observations on this issue:
Fading is still not associated with a sharp increase in the load. There have been cases of hanging the game at the time the character was standing and doing nothing or, for example, hung on the stairs without moving. In this case there were no new characters or zombies around.

As far as I managed to find out, this problem has a place to be not only for me. For example, just one of the players, the general with me also hung. I managed to make some screenshots of his hung character.

I was near him 10 minutes. He never disappeared. It is impossible to pass through it. Causing him harm is also not possible.
