Eating an apple causes you unable to interact with any object as far as I can tell for about 5-6 seconds after finishing eating it.

It seems the game "thinks" ur supposed to use the "minimum" time of what a meal is considered.
Wouldnt not be surprised if the overall time (eating an apple + 5-6 sec) = canned sardines/tuna average eating time.
