Bullets not shooting out of the gun, but "out of the crosshair". Gun aiming up in the sky, but bullets go straight forward.
Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

This is kind of hard to explain in words, so you need to see pictures of this first. I would say that it is a major issue, as it affects gun play and may get you unfairly killed. It is possible to hit yourself even when the gun barrel is nowhere close.

In short, the gun aims in the totally wrong direction. When I look straight ahead, the gun will go into the sky. It looks similar to when you aim up and use "Alt" to look down, but that is not the issue. When you shoot with the gun poitning up, the bullets will still go to the middle of the screen, in totally wrong direction. Does bullets shoot out of the players eyes and not out of the barrel in DayZ anymore?

In the pictures, you can see how the bullets even can hit behind the gun when laying down etc. The bullets can also hit the ground if I aim straight forwards.

Steps To Reproduce

It seems pretty random. Happens with all guns, even pistols.
Usually happens while I am just playing with the guns, proning, reloading, chambering etc.

I have not found a specific way to reproduce this.

Additional Information

This has happened to me at least 5-10 times while trying 0.63, both during the stress tests and the offline build.

I've had the same. The crosshair and gun barrel direction / iron sights would get misaligned both in 1st and 3rd person. I would cure by standing up, and then looking and aiming all the way up. Then it would get back into center.

:edit: It happens when you use the new prone feature, with aiming a weapon and rolling. (holding space while prone and turning the mouse around). You can really move around freely even without a weapon. I found out I can stay laying on my back like that :D

This also happens consistently when you:

  • Hold RMB to "hip aim"
  • Use "free look" (ALT)
  • Fire (each shot adds to the error and shifts the gun up. However bullets hit where the crosshair is)

(Edit: spellcheck....)
