I get massive FPS drops when playing DayZ and sometimes even in the menu. The game becomes unplayable within minutes. I verify the file integrity and every time I do so, it says "failed to find 1 file" and it fixes itself but within minutes of logging back in and playing, the same thing happens. I'm not computer savvy but just want to play DayZ.

Hello Raoul_Grim and thank you for the report.
Have you always experienced this issue or has it started to occur only recently? Have you tried to remove the contents of C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder to see if it has any effect on the issue? Also, if you are experiencing constant fps drops in the menu, can you try the following and let us know?
- Start the game and open Steam overlay.
- Open settings
- Navigate into "IN-GAME" tab
- Under "In-Game server browser: Max pings / Minute" set the value lower than the default one
Regards,
Geez
Hi Geez,
Thanks for your quick response!
I haven't always had this issue. It started getting bad a month ago and DayZ has been practically impossible to play ever since.
I have removed the contents of the aforementioned DayZ folder in your previous comment. I have also followed your instructions to lower the value of the default Max/Pings per minute in my Steam overlay.
I have tested for approximately 15 minutes so far, and I have NOT experienced any issues of massive FPS drops like I have been. The menu also seems to function correctly. I will test for a longer period of time this evening and report any feedback tomorrow. I'm in New Zealand so we have a completely different timezone to pretty much everyone else in the world.
Thanks again
