Several textures don't update to a higher resolution when the player gets closer to the object, or update very slowly. I have noticed this the most with cars and doors (house interiors), but it might be happening with more objects. Most of the time, this can be fixed by either waiting for the texture to update or zooming in very closely on the object, forcing it to update.
I have attached a few screenshots that showcase the issue:
(before zooming in) (after)(before zooming in) (after)
(before zooming in) (after)
(I did not zoom in on the object here, but the game took ~10 seconds to update the texture; before) (after)
(before zooming in) (after)
My texture settings were on very high and my video memory set to 'Auto'. Furthermore, I ran DayZ from an SSD and made sure the game had enough RAM available, so there shouldn't have been any hardware limitations.
These screenshots were taken on the latest experimental build (0.62.139977), but this has been an issue since the first 0.62 build.
Has this been done intentionally to increase client performance?
