Server Performance is poor when maxed at 60 players - Private Master Shard server
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Since 0.62 moved to Stable branch, when our private 60 man server hits max players, there are noticeable drops in performance;

  • infected react and run slow
  • lag bubbles affect multiple players in close vicinity
  • vehicles perform poor (at the moment they are pretty good, except that FPS drops the longer you drive, but the physics is better)
  • Server drops completely requiring unscheduled restarts and can be evidenced via DayZ spy and the Fragnet error logs
  • players teleport around the map as if they are 'sliding on ice'

Hello Mr_Fun and thank you for the report.
We are aware that such situation can occur and we are working internally on improving the server performance. Currently there are still some systems which are not in place and which will improve the server performance in the future stages of development.

Hi Geez

thanks for the update. In addition to this task, this weekend just passed, server performance was really bad and it started to affect the population of our server. People were clearly getting annoyed and playing elsewhere, which is not good for our community.

We saw multiple instances on Saturday where the server would randomly disconnect up to 15 players at once. This is very concerning and we have raised a ticket with fragnet, but they are telling us there is nothing that they can do. Hopefully the server optimization tweaks that the Devs have been putting in to EXP work and it can be pushed out to stable soon

Thanks

Since the latest EXP patches have been pushed to stable 0.62140099, everything seems to be running fairly smoothly :)

Our server was maxed for around 6hours yesterday @ 60 and it didn't haven any mass crashes where 15+ players were forcibly disconnected.

Fingers crossed this is now fixed
