VRAM Issues on x64
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Hi, I know this is hardware dependent but DayZ seems to be limiting the amount of VRAM that it can use. My standard resolution is 1920x1080 but with my gtx 1080 I can play with DSR on up to 4k and still have high fps. At 1440p dayz runs at 75 fps for me pretty much everywhere. But once it hits 2988 VRAM on the GPU the fps slows down to around 20 until game restart. Playing at regular 1080p does not do this and can maintain 75 fps. At 1080p VRAM never goes beyond ~2300. After today's patch the same is happening with 1440p but it's going at ~2600 VRAM instead of the higher 2988. Nothing seems to be limiting the card as in software and this does not occur in other games. Most use past 3k VRAM without a problem.

Not sure if this is a driver issue, software program, or if DayZ can't handle DSR resolutions.

Hello TeamDeer and thank you for the report.
What is the video memory setting in video options set on? In case it is on auto or 2048, can you try to put it ot 1024 MB and let us know if that has any effect on the issue?
Regards,
Geez

Hi Geez,

I have tried 1024 and its much worse getting low fps around 2gb of vram and 2048 does the same as auto goes low about 3gb of ram. I'm think it might be something with the nvidia DSR but not sure it only happens on 1440p settings and above. But it shouldn't be a problem for an gtx 1080.

Hello TeamDeer.
Are you experiencing this issue on the 0.63 version as well?
