Today I tried to shoot a zombie at long range (550m aprox) and the shot hit down to the right, I know other weapons have inaccuracies at longer ranges like the M4 and CR527 but this was odd. I'm usually able to hit shots at 500m+ with the Winchester with relative ease. I took 4 more shots and confirmed that it was not my bad aim but something to do with the weapon itself. I was using a pristine Winchester with a worn hunting scope and pristine rounds. The grouping that I shot was probably a foot.

Event Timeline
The Winchester Model 70 has dispersion = 0.001 and the hunting scope adds -0.00025 for a final dispersion of 0.00075, or 2.6 MOA.
At range = 550 m, diameter of dispersion circle is approximately 0.00075*550 = 0.4125 m = 1 foot, 4 inches.
From the two shots shown in the clip I can't say that something is wrong.
As far as realism, ammunition is M80 ball, not the most accurate. The 0.00075 value is certainly within reason.

Is there a chance that we could see different types of .308 ammunition in the future? Maybe not just different types of .308 but variants of other types of ammo as well? That would be amazing and would add a lot of depth to the combat in DayZ.
I'm not a dev, just commenting. Match-grade ammunition which gives much better accuracy (depending on weapon) would be cool. Expanding ammunition has a little problem when it comes to 1-shot kill threshold (also just as importantly quantifying damage difference in the first place). We will see different ammo for certain firearms, shotgun slugs were mentioned in a recent status report, and I expect tracers with the introduction of machine guns.
