ARMA 3 32 bit LAPTOP Crash - 0xC06D007E -
New, NormalPublic

Description

After I've found out that I had to use 32 bit because 64 bit doesn't work on laptops, I've changed the platform to 32-bit. I kept on crashing as well, with and without mods.

Have a laptop, start arma 3, try 64 bit, later on try 32 bit, the crash keeps on going.

Additional Information

I've got a 710M Geforce, 8 GB of ram. I've been able to run it in the past - played a couple of times Zeus on it.

I was told by the known issues to use 32x bit, but that didn't work either.

This may be because your Intel drivers are out of date.

If you go into your device manager, can you check the date when your Intel was last updated? There is another thread on this that covers steps to resolve, but before we get to that, can you check and report back how up to date your Intel drivers are? (4000, 4500, 4600 etc).

Cheers

@TheRedNLer can you go to the intel site, and find the page that has the latest drivers that you need? You are going to have to load them manually. Are you ok do find the right page or do you need assistance with this step?

When I install it, it says that I need to contact the company I got this laptop from for the driver.. I can use some assistance.

https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005469.html < This is what they redirect me to, I have no idea what I have to do now.

Hi, so I am going to assume you tried to install the .exe file. Is this right? I hope so, because then we are still on the right track.

On the main driver page, I believe you should see 4 options:

.exe for 32bit
.zip for 32 bit

.exe for 64bit
.zip for 64 bit

Am I right in assuming that you have a 64bit system, and went with the 64bit .exe?

If you tried this and got stuck, you'll need to download the zip to your desktop.

How are we doing so far?

Sorry, I can see you are 64bit..

Due to its being mid night, I've got to rest. Anyways, I did install the 64x intel utility upgrade or something.

Midnight? Where are you? It's 9pm where I am :)

I am subscribed to this thread, so I'll keep an eye on your progress, and will respond when I can.

From the sounds of things - and BTW I am not BIS Support, not a dev, and have no formal qualifications to help you on this other than experience of helping 5 people so far with this error - you might be ok mate :)

Speak soon

Anyways, I did install the 64x intel utility upgrade or something.

Also, can you be a bit more specific - I am not clear on what this means.. :)

Alright, I´ll tell you everything now.

Recently, before making this, I've sent an e-mail to bohemia Interactive and this is what they responded with after I've sent the crash report:

Hello,

please open your Nvidia Control Panel (or AMD equivalent), select "3D Settings"
and then switch to the "Program Settings" tab.
Now please add "arma3_x64.exe" and select your dedicated GPU.

We apologize for the inconvenience, you have to do this manually because we
cannot fix this issue from our side. The hardware manufacturers will have to
release new drivers to fix this problem.

Thank you.

Best regards,

I tried this, it didn't work. I also tried this with the 32x bit and didn't work either.

The program I've downloaded is called ''Inter(R) Driver Update Utility 2.7.2'' and it redirected me to that site. I downloaded it from this site;

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

After that didn't work, I went here and downloaded the .exe 64x

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?v=t

It didn't work since it said:

Error: A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel® Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel® driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver can cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey mate, I am at work currently, but I think you'll need to confirm if the above makes sense to you.

On the Intel page that has the download options for your 4200 driver, there will be options to manually download the driver, as an exe or as a zip.

To make this work, you need to download the zip file, not the exe file.

I will be in touch shortly with a link to the steps you need to follow...

Alright, I'll wait.

Hey mate

Just got back from work .. and need to sleep now.

There is another thread on this site: [Maniphest] [Commented On] T123784: Can't launch my game after update

In this thread i explain the steps to fix the issue, and one of my posts has a link to the intel webpage that walks through the steps for processing the update using the zip option.

So far three or four people have had success with this .. so it is worth a try mate. I am going to be unable to assist until tomorrow night, so can i suggest you find and read this thread (it is quite long, but the answers are all there), and i will be around tomorrow to help if you need it?

Cheers

It worked, you are a god to me right now.

Thanks a lot, really. I finally can enjoy arma 3 again!

Quick question, can I play on 64x bit now too?

I am not a BIS support officer, but I am willing to share info on what steps you could take to resolve.

I believe BIS would want you to raise a new ticket though, with clear details of the issue you are experiencing. Then we can try to figure out what to do.

Is that ok?

I have the same error code with my game

Goto your device manager, goto your intel graphic card, double click on it, go to details, goto Update Driver, search for the update via the Internet option, wait, install, donzo.
