Okay, this one is beyond my comprehension. I was playing, and tried logging out, when the game crashed. I restarted the game, and
*got a black screen saying "You're dead"*.
What on earth? My character just died when I restarted the game, I wasn't even on a server when I got that message, wtf... Truly, when selecting a server now, it's a brand new bambi. I was full geared and everything. FFS
I have no idea.

Please post the link to your Steam profile here with the IP address of the server. Also, has the game crashed with an error message? if so, please attach the contents of your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ folder to this ticket as well.

I regrettably have no idea what server I was on when the game crashed, didn't mark it up and couldn't remember afterwards. Most likely it was one of the swedish DayZ SE 4-xxx servers, can't really say which, sorry.

Since you mention that the "you are dead" screen has appeared upon starting the game (without connecting to a server). Are you playing in windowed mode by any chance? As currently there is an issue with the keyboard being registered upon the game launch and alt tabbing. This can result in Enter key being pressed in windows / any program being registered in the tabbed game as well, which will click the "PLAY" button in menu and connect you to the last server you have played at. Is it possible that you have started the game upon the crash and then went into windows / web browser / etc and then clicked into it couple of minutes later only to find the "you are dead" screen?

I'm not playing in windowed mode, but during startup the game usually isn't full screen at first, but a smaller window stuck partly out of screen in the bottom right corner of the screen, and after the crash I came here to report other bugs that I noticed, which is what probably has caused me to accidentally press play in the background. Seems that I had instantly died after logging back. For my peace of mind, could you check what was the cause of death? So if the death wasn't a bug after all...

We have checked the character and did not find anything out of ordinary. However, we are aware of the issue you have described with the game launching in incorrect window when using fullscreen mode (according to our testing, this occurs when you click onto desktop / any program right after launching the game, before the game loads and appears on the windows bar / on the screen). We just have tested if this incorrectly launched window acts the same as the tabbed windowed mode (as I have described above) and confirmed that indeed, this incorrectly launched window does behave the same and registers the key presses done on the desktop / in other programs before player tabs into it. The issue is scheduled for a fix and we will update this particular ticket once it has been resolved.
