Maps zoom not works, when specifying the point of evacuation (Support Request Modules)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

If the player uses modules "Support Requister" and "Support provider-Helicopter Transport" and asks the evacuation, then after the arrival of the evacuation-helicopter (when a player enters into this helicopter) he need to specify the final point of evacuation. Note! At this moment, the player must open the map and indicate the point, but zoom in the map not working! Zoom will be the same at which you closed the map one last time. If the zoom will stay close , then it is impossible to zoom out and indicate the point of evacuation.

Hello,

this is actually not a bug, while not ideal, when you get inside the chopper you have to select the unload position through radio, so when you open the map, its the Command Menu that has focus of the scrolling not the map

this is actually not a bug

Omg!The map is not working as it should, and you say that is not a bug!
This is 100% bug, because the map must have zoom! Otherwise, map-usage doesn't make any sense.
I am very sorry that people like you don't want to do Arma3 controls is normal

But it is not a bug, its how it works, the Command Menu has the focus of the scrolling, you wouldn't be able to zoom in and out them map if you have a subordinate selected and have the Command Menu open to give him an order.

It could be fixed by adjusting the support call functionality not to be call through radio/command menu, but not sure how such fix would be viable.

See alarms have been raised, but not sure if there is anything we might be able to do about this.

To see what I mean by not a but

  1. Insert group (player as leader) on Stratis
  2. Open map
  3. Select at least one subordinate (e.g. F2)
  4. Try to zoom

With the support its the same only you cannot see the selection skipping up and down as there is only one option.

Hi! Thanks for the clarification. In the case of the infantry squad you are right, when you select one of the subordinate zoom does not work. But you can easily remove the selection and change the map scale. The problem is easy to solve.

But what will you do in the case of Helicopter transport? If you have already entered the helicopter and you want to specify the unload point, and you can't do that, then to change map-scale, you need to get out of the helicopter. But you can't do it!!! Please Note on this item! You can't get out of the helicopter, because at this moment, in the menu of the player there is only one point - "Transmit: in the Unload Position".

It turns out, that the player cannot do anything! It does not specify the unload point and he can't get out! During the battle, it interferes so much, that sometimes I want to break my monitor! This is a bug, at least because It's a trap for the player!

if BIS cannot do the map zooming when player already into helicopter, then need to come up with another clever solution.

For example, when specifying the destination point, the map should be is always at 100% scale. Or at least add in the action menu the option to leave the helicopter, if player want to zoom your map.

One thing could solve this, and that is if the Command Menu was not forced so player can disable it, that should be much better.

I don't understand. how exactly the player can solve the problem and escape from this trap?

At the moment, he can't, that was just me thinking out loud :D

@razazel I still think you should have closed this topic. The game has a problem, but no one even tries to solve this? status Resolved totally inappropriate.

Please, show it to someone from the developers.
